Blog's Purpose

The aim of this blog is simple, really, for me to post things that are of interest to me and to hopefully improve my writing skills.

Another purpose I have is to share the good, the bad and the whatever that I've experienced as a consumer/customer/student. 

Who am I? 
I'm known as Tabby- a university student from NTU majoring in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies. Before you ask, NO, I do not speak 15 languages. I'm just your average Singaporean who's proficient in English and sadly not as formidable in Mandarin. Linguistics is the study of language- the phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics. It does not mean that we speak half a dozen languages (though I do believe some of my more linguistically talented peers can).
I am also female if the name does not already imply. 

My interests include eating, reading, gaming (on consoles only), guinea pigs, cats and many other boring minor things. Expect my blog to have random raves and complains of food places I visited, reviews on modules and courses I have taken in NTU, random pics of my adorable pets and perhaps recommendations to books/light novels or games I came across.

Linguistics and Multilingual Studies @ NTU + Module Review

If you plan to take the LMS major, be prepared to question things you never questioned before, study things you may not expect and if you aren't really into certain things but are forced to take in order to clear AUs, suffer a little. I'll not go into details regarding the core mods- if you are already in LMS, there is already no escape; if you need the major to get into certain jobs, you'll bite the bullet. NTU Elective Review- Part 1 GER-PEs

Upon my arrival into NTU, I have relied on multiple Elective Review blogposts/articles to make informed decisions when selecting where to put my AUs. I have also relied on friends' recommendations and word-of-mouth on what is easier/more interesting to clear. Below will be the lists of electives that I have personally taken and my personal thoughts on them. GERPEs CS8100 Fundamentals of Communication Studies | LA | 3 AU | Grade obtained: B+ Consists of 1 Midterms 25%, 1 Finals 50%, Weekly online MCQ Quizzes 15% & attendance and participation 10%. The weekly quizzes are graded, but do not fret: you can keep retaking until the end of the week to obtain your 30/30. For attendance, it is signed- either beginning, middle or end of the class. It is never fixed to prevent people from skipping part of it.
